Fashionista Bad Luck | Sharon van de Pas | Michael Shwartz

fashion's bad ladiesOn rare occasions, fashion turns on itself, taking a look in the mirror with a moment of sobriety. I smiled reading the comments from young people, saying “but what does it mean?” looking at the Sharon van de Pas editorial, shot by Michael Schwartz for Black #12 Magazine.

The title “I’ve Been on My Back” shows us a vapid, expressionless fashionista. Was she thrown out on the street by her Goldman-husband? Is she an upscale call girl, no longer desirable to clients?

One of the blessing of age is an ability to see what’s written on the page. In this case, it’s a relevant metaphor for the times. Excellent styling by Tasha Cain.
