John Galliano makes retro lingerie a key design element in his Fall 2009 couture collection.Couture clothes are irrelevant to most women. Every year there’s a debate about the future of custom-made, extravagantly designed clothes for women who enjoy dressing like birds of paradise.

I’m not suggesting that women will really run around town in their lingerie-inspired dresses and jackets. But I can’t ignore the Smart Sensuality attitude of John Galliano’s Fall 2009 collection for Christian Dior.
