If Facebook was a nation, it would be the third-largest one in the world, coming after China and India. For people like us, social networking offers us the biggest opportunity to connect with people around the world, forming alliances that would never exist otherwise. This article introduces several up and coming networks, including in-house versions of Twitter. The interesting aspect of business and organizational Twitters is to introduce a horizontal line of information, away from silo-thinking and business operating units. Read on at The Economist.
