DAF-16 Gene Links Aging and Immunity

RedTracker| British scientists have identified a specific gene called DAF-16 in worms — but also found in humans — that links aging and immunity.

Because half of babies born in the rich world today will live to celebrate their 100th birthdays, researchers are focused on developing new drugs to enhance aging. Of course, a healthy, nondrugged lifestyle is preferable, from our point of view.

DAF-16 was active in most cells in the body and was very similar to a group of human genes called FOXO genes, which scientists believe play a role in the aging process. via Science Daily
