Comparatively Small Drop in 2009 US Philanthropy
Boston College’s Center on Wealth and Philanthropy estimates that US household giving for calendar 2009 will total between $216-$218 billion, a decline of between 4.8 and 5.7% from 2008.
Preliminary projections for 2010 offer the possibility that total household giving could return to the pre-recession (2007) level of about $234 billion.
