Comment on Tinamarie's Examiner Muslim Sex Shop's Article
Love|Peace This comment couldn’t be posted on the Examiner.com, on my friend’s article Muslim Sex Shops: The Sexualization of Islam, or the Islamization of Sex?
@Pao. Please forgive me if I missed your explanation on this topic, but could you clarify for Tinamarie’s readers the concept of mutaa or temporary marriage? In our ignorance and distortion of Islam, this is one topic that has confused me. Perhaps the Foreign Policy article is a lie, in which case I have helped perpetuate the lie. But it says that mutaa is a common practice among Shiite Muslims and encouraged by Hezbollah. Some non-Muslims get confused about how virginity and mutaa sit together in Islam — if at all.
The FP article suggests mutaa is on the rise.
