GlobeTracker| Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) is urging DOE to reject a proposed windfarm project in Texas that uses stimulus funds to create about 2,000-3,000 clean-energy jobs in China. The 320,000-square-foot plant would employ roughly 330 US workers in plant operations and construction of the facility. The 240 wind turbines would be made in China, securing most of its capital from Chinese banks but also seeking funds from the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The project is a partnership between China’s A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd, and the US Renewable Energy Group. via EENews
