British Royal Family Gets a Buckingham Palace Flickr Page

The Duke and Duchess of York, later to become King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, are seen with Princess Elizabeth, now Queen Elizabeth II.DolceTracker| Ah, that Queen Elizabeth II is so hip. After sending Christmas greetings on her YouTube channel, The Queen of England is getting a Flickr page. The site will initially store 600 images of the Royals and will have 28 sections covering senior members of the Royal Family including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.

Not only is the Queen walking around Buckingham Palace turning off the lights to save money, and Prince Andrew has cut off Fergie’s hopes of a financial lifeline, but the royal family is now reaching out to the world in an attempt to communicate a ‘we get it’ message. The new Buckingham palace Flickr page goes live tomorrow, which is good news.

In an unrelated matter, the new Google Images presentation will kill a good piece of Flickr’s search traffic. It’s only appropriate that the Queen of England saves the Flickr web viewers day.
