British Medical Association Denounces Homeopathy

RedTracker| The British Medical Association has passed a motion denouncing the use of alternative medicine.

Dr Tom Dolphin, deputy chairman of the BMA’s junior doctors committee in England told the conference: “Homeopathy is witchcraft. It is a disgrace that nestling between the National Hospital for Neurology and Great Ormond Street [in London] there is a National Hospital for Homeopathy which is paid for by the NHS”.

The real crux of the argument is that there is no scientific research that confirms the presmises of homeopathy. Further clarification of exactly what is covered in this broad-based denunciation seems wise. The lack of scientific research into the effectiveness of homeopathy has long been a bone of contention amng doctors. With tightening budgets, the issue is now a front-burner one.
