Bill Gates Makes Lifetime Commitment to Berkshire Board
Two of our Smarty Pants guys Bill Gates and Howard Buffett are “pledged for life” to Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Howard Buffett, Warren Buffett’s son, will become the chairman of Berkshire and Bill Gates, 53, pledges to sit on the board for life. Clearly Bill Gates, along with Howard Buffett, is committed to preserving the unique corporate culture of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
In addition, Howard Buffett has pledged the majority of his Berkshire shares to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 5 percent annual increments, as long as Gates or his wife is still alive and managing the foundation.
