It’s almost certain that one in five adults will have diabetes, without major changes in America’s lifestyle.
Currently about 24 million, or one in 10 adult Americans has type 2 diabetes, driven by lifestyle choices. Diabetes costs the US more than $174 billion in 2007. Britain faces an almost identical set of statistics regarding current and future diabetes rates.
