A Serious Woman Shortage in China

Beyond the Veil| China admits that it has a surplus of 24 million men, who will remain bachelors resulting from the nation’s one-child policy and a preference for boy babies resulting in the aborting of female fetuses.

Government officials are expressing concerns shared by human rights activists. It’s a given that stealing children — especially girls — and sex trafficking will increase, along with a reality already acknowledged in India of men sharing a woman for a wife.
