Aussie Amelia Lester Becomes Managing Editor of The New Yorker
We regularly to so Australia for news but now the Aussie mindset will sink even deeper into American culture — if you read The New Yorker. 26-year-old, Harvard-educated, Amelia Lester is replacing Kate Julian as managing editor of the magazine.
As a Berta Greenwald Ledecky Undergraduate Fellow at Harvard Magazine, Lester, a native of Sydney, Australia, wrote her first column for the Harvard Magazine about Homecomings.
Amelia Lester has been a fact checker at The New Yorker and also worked as an editor at Paris Review. Both her youth and Aussie roots have Twitter all aflitter. I love it — the appointment feels like something out of Mad Men — Revenge of the Alphs Girls.
