NC Governor Bev Perdue One of the Most Unpopular Govs in History

Via Politico, Perdue’s popularity has fallen from 60 percent in mid-January to an anemic 25 percent in mid-July, according to Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm. The Governor has been hit by the perfect political storm.

Dealing with economic crises of epic proportion, requiring her to layoff public school teachers and state employees, Perdue also lives with the continuing displeasure with former governor Mike Espy. No one accuses Perdue of any impropriety, but her eight-year stint as North Carolina’s lieutenant gov isn’t helping her relationship with voters.
