Dr. Jill Biden Promotes Community Colleges in Paris

If the enthusiasm of her PDAs for military families in Germany were a precursor of her speech in Paris, Dr. Jill Biden must have made a strong case for the critical importance of community colleges as a pillar of economic recovery and a source of retooling the nation’s labor force.

AP phots via Huffington PostThe World Bank had a similar message in a report Monday that denounces the “hype” surrounding elite universities. The report says developing countries, especially in times of recession, would be better off meeting the educational needs of their local communities and economies than trying to build world-class schools.
