America’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be in Africa next week, on a seven-nation tour aimed to reaffirm Amrica’s commitment to the African continent.
The Times South Africa reports that Secretary Clinton will begin her trip on Monday, Aug. 5 in Kenya. Items on the Secretary’s schedule:
* Leading a forum on development as part of the African Growth and Opportunity Act
* Meet in Nairobi with Sheikh Sharif Amed, the president of Somalia’s transitional government
* Focus on the problems of piracy off the coast of Somalia and Islamic extremists in the region
After Kenya, Clinton will travel to South Africa, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Liberia and Cape Verde.
