The lead into the London Times story says simply “she can’t stop hugging.”

But her words were center stage yesterday at London’s Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in Islington. Her remarks were made to 100 teenage girls who had no idea that she was coming:

“If you want to know the reason why I am standing here, it’s because of education,” she told them. Michelle Obama went on the tell the girls that “being smart is cooler than anything in the world”.

She then mentioned to the girls: “I do hugs.”
