J'Adore: New York City Walk

It’s too bad that Caleb Smith, in 2005 a thirty-four-year-old librarian at Columbia,  hasn’t kept his New York City Walk blog updated. Why should he? Smith accomplished his mission: a two-year trek to document every street in Manhattan.

New York City Walk is a fantastic visual treat, even if you want to wander through these neighborhoods online. Like elephants and Indian artificats, the reality of these historical references is changing and disappearing. Documenting them is a great gift for us all.
