I am fascinated by the composition and spatial organization of the photos. They are precisely structured, and yet each time we look at the image, there are more layers of geometry to consider — the circle in the square, the curve against the line, triple rectangles with a circle in the center.

Normally such order and dramatic poses would destroy the intimacy and ‘real woman’ atmosphere the images convey. This is not the case with Remi’s photos of Alana. Spontaneity and personality abound in the contained spaces, yet there are boundaries to the round. She (the round) is always encased in a boundary.
