Scapula. Plural, scapulas or scapulae.
The large, flat, triangular bone forming the back of the shoulder.
Connecting the arm bone to the collar bone.
Also one of the most beautiful parts of the human body.
They’re mostly invisible, until revealed by light and shadow.
Smooth skin stretching over taut muscle and delicately shaped bone.
It’s a good place to put tattooes.
See eighth picture in the Wings collage.
I must mention that the creator of the second picture in this collage, Eleanor Hardwick, was born in 1993. That makes her five years younger than me… fifteen. And look at her talent, and how far she’s gone. Wow. What an inspiration! :)
I’m writing about shoulderblades today because I’m finally on semestral break. I’ll be free from schoolwork for about two weeks.
My shoulderblades can relax now! Usually, they suffer greatly from the bad posture I’m in when I’m doing drafting for school projects.
Take a photo of your own shoulderblades.
And show me?
Love,
Feanne
