Livia Firth Documentary ‘True Cost’

Colin Firth is in Cannes with his film ‘Genius’. Variety reports that Lionsgate has acquired US rights to the literary drama for under $4 million. ‘Genius’ explores the relationship between Scribner book editor Max Perkins played by Forth and US novelist Thomas Wolfe with Jude Law in the role. Perkins was the editor of F Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, along with Wolfe.

It’s Firth’s wife Livia Firth who has captured AOC’s attention, as the executive producer of a documentary ‘The True Cost’, a film that explores the dramatic impact of the fashion industry’s impact on the environment.

‘This movie’s going to shock the fashion world,’ Harvey Weinstein, married to designer Georgina Chapman, told Page Six at a Cannes reception.

Netflix will feature the film directed by Andrew Morgan, who reached out to Livia Firth, sometimes called ‘the Queen of the Green Carpet’. Firth introduced him to Stella McCartney, whose brand is backed by the luxury conglomerate Kering, led by CEO François-Henri Pinault, a lead investor in eco-friendly luxury brands.

Pinault is in Cannes celebrating Firth’s documentary.

Livia Firth : my journey into sustainable luxury with Chopard The Jewellery Editor

In our unique partnership with Chopard we have launched together its ‘Journey to Sustainable Luxury’ by forging a philanthropic relationship with South America’s most influential mining NGO, the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM).

It is a shocking truth that 100 million people worldwide depend on artisanal and small-scale mining for their survival. Artisanal and small-scale miners account for only 10% of global gold supply, but an unbelievable 90% of the labour force in gold extraction.  Something had to be done.
