Daphne Groeneveld | Patrick Demarchelier | Vogue UK November 2012 | Mix Master

Makeup artist Yadim is making big waves in the beauty world. The 29-year-old takes graffiti, street style, club kids and his own vision of “freaky fun stuff” and mixes it with glamorous beauty marks of past decades. Vogue UK talks to Tadim, who has just been awarded a major cotnract as international makeup designer for Dior Beauty.

In this beauty shoot lensed by Patrick Demarchelier, Yadim pays homage to Christian Dior beauty visionary Serge Lutens, who created his first makeup line in 1967. “He was rebellious,” says Yadim. “I look back at those early campaigns and he really pushed things. He did something dramatic and theatrical, so I wanted to take that spirit and modernise it.”

Daphne Groeneveld is the beauty beneficiary of the Yadim treatment in ‘Mix Master’ for British Vogue’s November issue.
